Winter Bike Ride and Sleepover

On Saturday 27 June 2015, six of our Joeys set-off to ride nearly 14 kilometers around Lake Burley Griffin's central and eastern basins. We learnt about riding safely and sharing the path, we got to do some bird watching from a hide in the Jerrabomberra Wetlands, and we got to cut loose a bit on the gated car-free part of Dairy Road! Then, after handing our bikes back to our parents, we jumped on a bus back to the hall. Some more Joeys turned-up at the hall, we played some games, did some craft and we had yummy pizzas for dinner and roasted marshmallows on the campfire. After dinner, we laid out our sleeping mats and sleeping bags and settled down to watch a screening of the Jungle Book, projected onto the ceiling! It was pretty cool to watch a movie on the ceiling while tucked into our sleeping bags. In the morning, we ate a good breakfast, played some games and all too soon it was time to go home.
