On the weekend of 29-31 August, around seven Joey families travelled to the Cabramurra Scout Lodge for a weekend of snow fun! For dinner on Friday night, most of us took the short walk through the snow down to the bistro in Cabramurra, where we enjoyed good quality, reasonably-priced meals. In the morning, on Saturday, we woke to magnificent clear skies instead of the forecast drizzle. Saturday turned out to be just about as perfect as you could hope for! There was plenty of snow, and a little bit of iciness from overnight drizzle melted to leave the snow quite soft. Many of us travelled to Mt Selwyn, and a number of our Joeys experienced skiing for the first time. Everyone reported having a great time, and some of the first-time Joey skiers were even tackling blue runs and t-bars by the afternoon. On Saturday night, our weary bodies were treated to a pot-luck feast, with an assortment of delicious meals contributed by each participating family ... and a dizzying array of delicious homemade desserts ... with key lime pie, vanilla slice, carrot cake, chocolate cake ... and more. No one went hungry! On Sunday, we woke early to light drizzle, but that didn't stop the Joeys! They were outside early riding toboggans and having a great time in the great outdoors, irrespective of the drizzle, as kids should. Thanks to Meerkat for organising the weekend! Numbat. ![]() |
