Introduction

The Scout Association of Australia provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for more than 68,000 young people aged 6-25,
making it the largest youth movement in the nation
Internationally, we have over 28 million young people enjoying the benefits of S couting  across 216 countries. Scouting is focused upon personal development which means promoting the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of our youth members and helping them achieve their full potential. In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves.

Scouts offers a huge variety of activities from the traditional outdoor activities of camping, construction and hiking to the adventures of abseiling, rock climbing, canyoning, sailing, canoeing, flying, skiing and much more. This is coupled with environment projects, opportunities for leadership development, the performing arts, community engagement and service, cooking, first aid and any other activities the youth members wish to try out.

Scouts Australia’s ongoing success is due to enthusiastic and committed adult volunteers from all walks of life who love adventure and take great pride in encouraging our youth to reach their full potential.
