Macarthur Scout Group Joey Section Boomer Mob
Sadly at present our Joey Mob is inactive due to a lack of leaders. We were able to get something great going for our young Scouts, but like everything in Scouting it relies on dedicated volunteers. If you think you have the time and enthusiasm to be a Joey Scout Leader please contact the Group Leader at the email address below. Macarthur Scout Group Joeys are boys and girls aged six or seven who enjoy making new friends, learning new things, tackling new challenges and all the while having fun! Our mob is unique in that family involvement is encouraged at most of our activities. The Joey section is the youngest section in the Scouting program. We run an exciting program with a strong focus on outdoors experiences and family participation, which is why many of our activities are held away from our hall on weekends rather than weeknights. Joey-aged kids are bursting with energy and want to be able to run, so we plan outdoor activities in interesting locations that aren't possible with only an hour in the cold and dark of a weeknight evening. We go bushwalking, learn about bushcraft and discover more about ourselves and the world. This means our schedule is irregular, meeting sometimes on Saturday afternoons, and other times on Tuesday nights. As most of our weekend activities run for at least two hours, we don't necessarily meet every week - a fortnightly pattern is more typical. You can see our schedule by clicking on the 'Calendar with weekly program' link in the navigation bar. It's always useful to contact us beforehand if you're thinking of visiting or giving Joeys a try, because we're often out and about! Feel free to contact us at joeys@macarthurscouts.org.au if you're interested to know more! |
